On Sunday morning, Pam Gabbard walked through the back door of the city hall with a bag.

"After seeing its destruction, I have to come down and do something because...I can't even imagine what they are going through," Gabbard said.

She donated many different items, such as baby essentials and antibacterial wipes.

"Peanut butter, corn, green beans, peas," Gabbard said, listing her donations.

Newport Police Sergeant Joshua Bucchi said they have a list of items that are useful to those in need.

"Non-perishable items, diapers, water, cleaning fluid, toilet paper, etc.," Butch said.

Bucchi said they are working hard to try to ship the items sometime on Monday. He said one possibility is to use the Campbell County Emergency Management Department, which is also sending supplies.

An All Hazards Incident Management team from Northern Kentucky will also be sent to Western Kentucky to assist with the damage caused by the tornado.
